I’ve recently decided I’d like to have a metal detector and have researched it pretty extensively but seem unable to make a decision. The one I saw in Cabellas catalog is pretty pricey and the reviews I’ve read say it is not all it’s cracked up to be particularly for its price … about $1299.00. That particular machine was a Minelab Explorer SE I believe. I don’t mind spending the money but don’t want something that is too heavy or too complicated that I’ll give up on it without giving it a chance. However I don’t want a cheap one that I’ll want to replace in a year or that can’t decipher between junk and coins or "treasure". Can anyone recommend a metal detector for a beginner but not a cheapo one either? I’ve no plans to use it near water but you never know. However I’m not wanting to spend hundreds more just for that capability that I may or may not ever use. Thank you!

that the goverment gives less money to the latino/hispanic schools, and the african-american schools, they give a lot of money to the white schools, the latino/hispanic shools and the african american schools have unsufficient funds, they don’t do summer school for free anymore, they charge, the goverment spends to much money on the white ppls schools, the white ppls have everything in their schools, and the latinos and the african americans don’t have computers, books, the front cover of the book is missing or it’s written on itby gangmembers, some of the lockers don’t work, the floor needs fixing the sinks the bathrooms, i bet the white ppls don’t have to go thougth a metal detector very morning, we need equal school funding.
lawmakers shold ask chicago public schools students to boycott the 1st day of school? rigth or wrong?
This isn’t actual the governments fault, except maybe through inaction, this is just the result of localization of school of management along with unrestrained capitalism. People want to tend to congregate towards the neighborhoods they can afford, where they pay more property taxes so their children can afford to go to better schools. Different ethnic groups tend to house in the same area and have similar financial resources.
So the end result is that white people live in white neighborhoods, where they make more money in white collar jobs and pay more property taxes so that their children can continue the cycle through superior education.
Meanwhile, minorities live in substandard neighborhoods where they also continue the cycle of poor education, ensuring that they too continue the cycle they are on.
It is really the best argument against why local governments are so ineffective at most things.
As for the boycott, I think people need a plan first on how to fix things, and then use political pressure when if they can’t get any traction on getting it passed. People want a solution, but don’t even know what that would be.

This isn’t for those who have street smarts, but those who are innocent in the world.
Example 1:
I was at a festival with a couple of friends and I saw a fight starting up. My instinct is, get away, and not take chances…find out what’s going on later.
My friends, who are white are standing there watching, which I though was risky and dangerous. Yeah police showed up, but when we came in, they didn’t have a metal detector, or search us. It’d be real easy to come in with a gun. I had a pocket knife myself.
Example 2:
I was at a take out restaurant in a borderline neighborhood. I heard some pops in the air and saw a bunch of people leaving. Fireworks, or gunplay… I still don’t know. It happened to the east of us, and the restaurant and entrance faced west. I had to order her to stay inside where we were still I felt it was safe.
My background is that I’m in Milwaukee, from a neighborhood that isn’t south-Central, but not completely innocent either.
Other pet peeves:
Leaving doors unlocked.
Being too trusting (ie leaving things unguarded)
Thinking you should be defensive only in certain areas
I don’t trust anyone, or any area more than the other. I am on guard all the time. The threat itself is enough, because it only takes one person to hurt you, or rob you.
To those who wanna say I’m racist or whatever, I am 1/2 white, with a mostly white immediate family, and friends, and a white fiancée and in-laws.
Ok to the ignorant <insert slur against whites here> who think only blacks are causing trouble. Think Hitler, Stalin, and any mobster. Now READ MY QUESTION AGAIN!!!!
And those who say it’s cowardly to avoid a situation…there are many many brave souls in the hospital, or in the ground. The smart people are far, far away when "ship" happens.
Ok for you racists, I said SOME, not all. I have a clean record, and many of my black friends do too. The worst I have is Jaywalking, period. I didn’t call anyone here cracker mainly b/c I don’t care enough to hate you dummies. Alls I can say is there’s a lot of arrogant know-it-alls 6 feet under.
Btw I am part German, and this incident happened at Germanfest between two white guys. This was a mostly white crowd, so your bigoted perception that "we" cause all the trouble is flawed.
If you have the risk of being turned down from progressing b/c of color, and were weak willed, you’d do thing you shouldn’t too. I’m not a millionaire, but proud of what I do have.
I have morals, and don’t rob, cheat or steal to get ahead, which I hope really shatters your perception of "us".
Now I’ll pick the best non-bashing answer I can just to spite you prejudiced mo-fo’s….you know who you are even if you didn’t voice it.
I see the thumbs up y’know.
A more suitable word would be ignorance. If you don’t have experience or education on a subject/culture you don’t understand the bounderies.
